I was tempted to call this a snuff box because of the shape and size but it isn't air tight so I don't think it is. It's a very nice silver plated box. 3 1/4 inches long by 2 1/2 inches wide and 3/4 inch deep. It has a two mast ship etched on the top. No other marks except wear and scratches from use. It seems to me that in some places there is a yellowish color showing through so this may be a brass box after all. Whatever it is it snaps closed nicely and you can use it for you snuff or whatever. Great for putting those small things you don't want to loose.�
