This is a painted plate titled "lost in the sands" by Heywood Harly. I can�t make out the mark on the reverse but you can see it for yourself in case you recognize it.The detail is extraordinary. A gentleman on horse back asking 3 peasant woman for help. The scene shows the sea or a great lake in the background the a mountain in the far distance. The minute detail in the expressions and the horse make this a quality plate.
The plate is old and shows some scratches. 9 �" diameter and weighs 1 lb
