This is a very unique signed piece by the artist Henry W. Longfellow. It is metal punched and done with excellent detail. It is a vintage piece however not dated. There is a label in the back indicating it to be from the artist's studio and explaining that it is Colored by oxidizing and silver plating and a jeweler's lacquer is applied to prevent tarnishing. It confirms each piece to be individually chased and colored by the artist. The two sail boats seem to be in a heated race. Details of the buoy, lighthouse, seagulls and waves are wonderful. I very unique item. Framed in wood. Plate is 20" by 12" and framed at 23" by 15". The frame is old and shows fading and wear. Very vintage. It looks to be copper.
