Nice old inkwell with brass top. The glass is heavy and very decorative with swirls and a patter on the underside. Weighs 1 � lb. And stands just under 4". Perfect airtight close. Has no repairs or chips or dents. In perfect condition. Came from a very old home. The heaviness keeps it from tipping over and doubles as a paperweight. An interesting feature is that the pattern design on the underside is 2 �" in dia. Yet if you put it up to the light and look through the opening of the well which is 1 1/8", you see the star design from the underside complete reduced to 1 �". The inside glass actually compresses the design.
